Wellbeing Challenge

We welcomed Steve Burns to the Academy on 5th December. He delivered 'The Wellbeing Challenge' to selected Year 9 pupils. The scheme is funded by the Big Lottery through Lancashire Mind. The hope of the challenge is  to enable  pupils to support their friends with the aim of  reducing the number of young people who may go on to develop a mental health condition.

We are please to have Steve here, as we are keen to help students understand the importance of looking after their own mental health and those around them.  The aim is to reach 50 schools in Lancashire over 3 years and this is the second year. They work  with small groups (maximum 14) of year 9 students for up to 15 x 1 hour sessions (Or other arrangements to suit the individual school)
