Anti Bullying Week

Last week was Anti-Bullying Week. There were various activities and assemblies running throughout school. The theme this year was ‘Choose Respect’. We had a fabulous response from pupils, taking part in discussions around the subject and a fantastic amount of pupils chose to sign the pledge in the LRC to help to stop bullying.

This week, as a continuation of Anti-Bullying Week, Year 9 pupils watched a performance of a play called 'Outloud'. It focused on the theme of preventing and tackling homophobic, biphobic and transphobic language. This was the fourth year the play had been performed to our Year 9 pupils and it was followed up with a workshop lead by the actors and the play’s director, Adam Zane, where pupils were able to discuss and ask questions about the themes raised in the play. The pupils really enjoyed the experience and participated exceptionally well on the day.

If you have any concerns regarding bullying please get in touch with the academy.
