On Tuesday a group of students became Anti-Bullying Ambassadors, trained and endorsed by the Diana Award. They were taught about the different types of bullying, how to identify it and how to support their peers effectively if they are being bullied. The students engaged well with Jake, their training provider, asking lots of questions and discussing the ways in which they can help minimise bullying at Fulwood Academy; they then created activities and events that will help promote the anti-bullying programme.
The group will be meeting to create an action plan of how to promote themselves to the remainder of the student body and how best to offer support to those that need it. There are additional awards that the students can now work towards, gaining another badge to wear and accolade for the school; these are: Respect, Community, Wellbeing and Online Safety. These awards signify that a school excels in dealing with bullying in relation to that particular area. Our Anti-Bullying Ambassadors are eager to earn all four awards and will be working hard to do so, as well as having a positive impact on the whole school - look out for more updates as they make themselves known throughout the school and community!
