Armistice Day

Today we held our Armistice Day presentation. Pupils led the service which included a minute of silence for reflection and remembrance.

This year marks 100 years since the end of the First World War Every year in November, the nation marks the wars that have scarred our past and the bravery of the men and women who fought them. Armistice Day and Remembrance Sunday, which both fall on Sunday November 11 this year, are a chance to remember not just those who fought, but what they fought for.

Year 10 pupils have been selling poppies and the proceeds will go to the Royal British Legion. Pupils throughout the Academy have been colouring in poppies to create a display in the Learning Resource Centre.
