Mr R Chambers
Academy Governor

Russell Chambers - a Senior Advisor of Credit Suisse in the United Kingdom and Ireland, based in London. Prior to his current role, Russell was the Chief Executive Officer of Credit Suisse in the United Kingdom and Ireland from June 2007 until June 2008. Mr. Chambers joined Credit Suisse from UBS where he was a Managing Director in UK Investment Banking. He began his financial services career at Merrill Lynch, where he spent over thirteen years in a number of senior roles in both their UK Investment Banking and European Private Client businesses. Russell is a member of Credit Suisse's European Charity Committee. He is a Member of the Corporate Partnerships Board of Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity. He is a member of the Corporate Board of the National Theatre and a member of the UCL Campaign Executive Committee. He is a Team 2012 Appeal Ambassador to the British Olympic Association. Mr. Chambers is a qualified solicitor and holds a degree in Law from University College London.

Mrs F Elcomb
Academy Governor

Fiona Elcomb - The Academy’s Vice-Principal in charge of the curriculum and the use of data within the Academy. Fiona has worked at the Academy since 1997 and undertaken roles such as Head of Year and Head of Mathematics.

Alison Ellis - has worked in administration for the education sector for over 16 years, 8 of which have been at Fulwood Academy. Worked for Barclays Bank PLC for 10 years (1979-1989) and has previously been a Parent Governor at a Church of England Primary School.

Mr D Goldie
Chair of Governors

David Goldie (Chair) - has over 25 years' experience working in the telecommunications industry and has been a company director and chief executive of a number of north-west companies. He has recently left the Board of the North West Development Agency and remains a Director at TalkTalk Telecom Group plc. Previously been Chair of Governors at a Church of England primary school, has three school age sons, and has a keen interest in education

Mr P Haslam
Academy Governor

Phil is the currently IT director for the business to business division of Talk Talk and has numerous links with Preston throughout his past. He has worked within Talk Talk for nearly 10 years - during this time he was based in Preston at the Tulketh mill site for several years and one of his roles as a governor is to facilitate any links between the locally employed poeple in Talk Talk in the North West and the Academy. Prior to that Phil was a student at the University of Central Lancashire and lived in Preston throughout his undergraduate days. Phil hails from Cheshire and lives there today with his family - he has three children.

Mr A Kinson

Alan Kinson - Proud parent of three children who all attend Fulwood Academy. A Chartered Accountant who is working as a Program Manager for a large local retailing group. A Governor at Fulwood for six years and prior to that a Governor at Longsands Community Primary School for eight years.

Stephen Mercer - has over 30 years previous experience in teaching and LEA administration, including over 10 years as Head of School Policy and Operations for one of the largest local authorities in the country.

Mr S Thompson
Governor

Cllr. Stephen Thompson is an LEA governor and has served on Preston City Council since 2007 for Greyfriars Ward. His career in technical graphics has taken him to four continents working on a wide range of projects. He was a lecturer in art and design at graduate and post graduate level for 13 years before taking a position with BAE Systems at Samlesbury. Stephen continues to have an interest in visual arts and was the first councillor to be appointed as Member Champion for Arts and Culture until a change in administration in 2011.

Mr B Wood
Governor

Bill Wood - Educated at Havelock Comprehensive Grimsby, qualified with Forrester Boyd as Chartered Accountant in 1969. Career with Cosalt plc 1971 to 2007--Group Managing Director 1995-2006. Involved in charitable work as Governor/Trustee of Fulwood Academy in Preston and Havelock Academy in Grimsby Chairman of Trustees at St James Church Louth, Lincs.
