New Building
Fulwood Academy’s new £23m building will be opening its doors in September 2012 to all our students. This new building will be an excellent platform to enhance the learning for all our students. Its innovative design also meets the highest environmental standards.
The building has been specifically designed to complement the Academy’s caring ethos embodied by our House system and also to support the provision of an outstanding learning experience for our students. Each of our eight Houses will have a dedicated area within the new building as well as external House spaces and gardens.
The iconic and beautiful building will ensure all our students will have access to highly specialist indoor and outdoor facilities and includes excellent Science, Music, Art, Design and Technology, Media and ICT suites. Student learning will be further enhanced by a well-stocked Library and Learning Resource Centre, which will provide access to a wide range of materials and equipment. Other specialist features include dedicated AV studios, radio station, lecture theatre, and performance theatre and seminar rooms. In addition, all classrooms will be equipped to the highest standards, welcoming and inspiring our students.
Our sporting facilities will provide football and rugby pitches, an athletics track as well as all weather multi-use games areas for a range of other sports and activities.
