The academy is closed from Thursday 1st April and re-opens to students on Monday 19th April

6th Form Provision

From September 2011 the Academy is to extend provion for post 16 education. That means current Year 10 students will be the first to have the opportunity to continue their studies on A level, Btec and Diploma courses

A student and parental survey will be arriving soon as part of the consultation process.

Football Success

Fulwood Academy sent their Year 11 team to Preston College on Tuesday night to defend the ‘Preston College 7-a-side’ trophy that they won last year. With a place already secured in the ‘Preston Schools’ Final, the boys were feeling quietly confident. After winning 4 matches and drawing 1 in the league, the boys approached the semi-final, against St. Cecilia’s in a confident mood. After a quiet 11 minutes, Ben Graham volleyed in the winner from 30 yards – a magnificent goal.
Fulwood Academy then played Ashton H.S. in the final. Despite going a goal down, the boys equalised and the match went to penalties. After 2 magnificent saves from Ryan Crewe, Jamie Bryson stepped up to score the winning penalty and to ensure that the trophy was taken home by Fulwood Academy.
Congratulations to the team and good luck for the rest of the season.

Charity Work

All House Tutor Groups are working to raise funds for their chosen charity. This has included cake sales, sponsored events, staff dressing up, penalty shootouts, Easter Egg raffles, Staff v Students Netball, Crossbar Challenge and much, much more.

Prizes for the most successful house groups are up for grabs!

Inter House Quiz Challenge

Each House has been engaged in an Inter-Form compettion. The overall winner from each House will then go through to the Final to compete against one another for the prize of Academy Quiz Champions.

The final event will take place at the Rewards Assembly on the 31st March. This will include awards for Healthy Schools, Attendance, House Points, charity work and of course the overall winning House.

It is hoped that the event will be attended by a special VIP Guest.
